Watching the skyline…

No, not the “aliens invade the world and hoover them up into their spaceships” movie of last year, which was panned by critics (unfairly, I thought, there were some nice scenes in it…just good, epic escapist stuff…why can’t people just switch off and be ENTERTAINED when watching films? Anyway, back on topic…) but Oppy’s skyline, hunting – at the moment, and clearly for a while yet – in vain for our first glimpse of Cape York. That’s still a good few drives up ahead yet, but not long now, I think, not long at all…

Oppy’s nudged forwards a bit along the Road to Endeavour. Latest position here…

…which I think puts her just 4, maybe 5 drives away from my red flag… 🙂

Back to that skyline I mentioned. Oppy might not be able to see Cape York yet, but she can see the Tribulation Hills very clearly. Some colour filter images came back yesterday, allowing me to make this colourised view… you’ll need to click on it to see it properly…

…and a zoom-in on those hills…

What are we seeing there? Well, those are the hills that lie to the south of Cape York, a curving range of them that forms the western rim of Endeavour. You can see them clearly on this next rendering, at the top of the picture, with Cape York at the bottom…

To finish off this time, another in our series of “Would probably look NOTHING like that in real life, but it’s pretty anyway…” views of sunset over the Hills of Endeavour…

More pics soon, so come back and check.
