Opportunity is now taking a leisurely drive around the meteorite “Shelter Island”, photographing it as it goes. Here are my latest pics… 3D glasses need to view them (but you probably guessed that…!)
I can’t wait to see the “rear” side of this meteorite properly! If you look at that first pic there are tantalising hints of some intriguing detail there. Maybe later today, or early tomorrow, we’ll see it properly.
In the meantime, has Oppy already spotted her next meteorite “island” in this sea of sand..? There’s definitely something big and blocky, and eroded, up ahead…
