Not a lot happening with Oppy the past couple of days – maybe some more pictures later today – but some exciting news about this blog, which I want to share with you…
I’m delighted and proud to be able to say that “Road to Endeavour” is now a “Guest blog” on The Planetary Society’s website!
When I was asked recently by the PS’s blogger and Outreacher extraordinaire Emily Lakdawalla if I’d be interested in having some of RtE’s posts featured on the Society’s site I didn’t have to think about it too hard. Hmmm, let’s see… the Planetary Society’s site is visited thousands of times a day… by space enthusiasts all around the world… did I want to have my updates on Oppy’s amazing martian adventure shared with many more people..? Ok! That offer was never going to be passed up! So, a huge thank you to Emily – who works absolutely tirelessly at The Planetary Society to promote space exploration, educate people and publicise the achievements and successes of the teams behind these missions – for asking me.
It doesn’t change anything here; RtE is going nowhere. It just means that from now on Mars enthusiasts will be able to read selected RtE posts over on Emily’s site, and, I hope, then come here to follow Opportunity’s exploration of Endeavour crater too.
So, if you’re a regular reader, steady as she goes, it just means more people are going to be reading this with you. If you’re a new reader, here from the Planetary Society’s site, then welcome! I hope you enjoy reading this blog. You’ve a lot of catching up to do, but it’ll be worth it. Although largely forgotten by the mass media, Opportunity has been visiting some amazing places and seeing some incredible things, and if you take some time to scroll back through these pages you’ll see beautiful meteorites, stunning views, and a lot of gorgeous martian geology. Welcome aboard. 🙂
Congrats, Stu! You deserve the extra audience; your work is marvelous!
Hmm, what are your plans for Curiosity – “Road to the Summit”? 🙂
Congratulations Stu and welcome to all your new readers… 🙂
Excellent!!! Felicitaciones!!! STu 🙂
