As many people expected, NASA has released an official ’9-11 Tribute’ image, showing the Stars and Stripes-bearing piece of World Trade Centre metal which is attached to its robot arm. Here it is:
I’m sure I’m not the only one who saw that image and thought it shows Oppy sticking one finger up at the terrorists behind the 9-11 atrocities. And if it doesn’t, well, this version, of mine, definitely does…
I’m a little confused. Nobody in their wildest dreams expected either of these robots to still be operating at this point. So, why weren’t these shots publicized at an earlier anniversary?
