After her “full steam ahead!” assault on Endeavour Crater, Oppy is, it seems, going to stop at a rocky outcrop – probably the last ‘rocky outcrop’ of any size she’ll study – to take a rest and catch her breath before continuing on to Botany Bay and Cape York. During her stop, Oppy will use her robot arm’s tools to study the rocks of the outcrop, allowing the MER scientists to compare the rocks this close to Endeavour with those they’ve found in other locations during Oppy’s epic trek across the vast Meridiani desert.
